OneTrust is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join its Product Engineering team. The company's mission is to enable innovation through responsible use of data and AI, providing an AI-Ready Governance Platform that unifies regulatory intelligence, automation, and connected governance workflows.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and contributing to design and architecture decisions for new frontend and/or backend features while supporting existing development efforts on the industry-leading platform.
Key responsibilities include:
**Development**: Support development of web and mobile interfaces using HTML, CSS, JavaScript/TypeScript, and backend development with Drupal, Python, Core Java, REST, and Spring ecosystem. Deploy applications to MS Azure while assisting with cloud application architecture. Achieve at least 80% code coverage per team standards.
**Collaboration**: Work closely with UX, Product Managers, Product Owners, and other developers in planning and grooming sessions. Drive team discussions on system architecture and component design. Support the team in completing committed sprint stories.
**Support & Quality**: Reduce defects in modules/products to industry standards by catching and fixing issues early. Ensure critical and high-priority items are delivered per SLA.
**Code Review & Mentorship**: Conduct peer reviews to improve code quality. Help junior developers with development testing, exploratory testing, AI testing, and test automation. Build high-performing teams, grow technical skills, and create development opportunities.

**Requirements:**
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical/business field
- 8+ years of professional software engineering/development experience
- Extensive hands-on experience with object-oriented design methodology and application development using Java/J2EE, Design Patterns, Spring MVC, SQL, Web services
- Experience with Elasticsearch and data streaming tools like Kafka
- Strong understanding of web services and SOA standards (REST/OAuth/JSON)
- Competent understanding of code and scripting (Python, Bash)
- Moderate experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
- Agile development experience (Scrum, XP, or Pair Programming)
- Ability to work with open-source technologies and cloud services (Azure, Google Cloud, AWS)
- Recent development experience with Drupal, Ember, Angular 8+, Java 7+, or Python
- Familiarity with public cloud providers (Azure, Google Cloud, AWS)
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Familiarity with different databases (relational and document)
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins
- Proficiency in Kubernetes including cluster deployment, scaling, and management
