OneTrust is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead technical direction across major feature areas and related systems within their AI-Ready Governance Platform. This is a senior individual contributor role focused on technical leadership without direct people management.
In this role, you will lead design and architecture for major features and components, ensuring alignment with broader system architecture. You'll determine your own approach on complex, ambiguous assignments where established playbooks don't exist, leveraging independent technical judgment that is trusted well beyond your immediate team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading technical design and architecture for major features or component sets
- Working independently on complex problems with minimal guidance
- Partnering with other engineering teams, Product, and UX to shape solutions before implementation
- Building technical credibility and working relationships across the organization
- Establishing and championing engineering best practices adopted by your team and beyond
- Mentoring Senior and mid-level engineers to help them grow their technical judgment and scope
You think in terms of systems and tradeoffs rather than individual tickets. You're sought out by other engineers for technical guidance beyond your own team. You have deep expertise in frontend and/or backend technologies relevant to cloud-based platforms, with demonstrated experience leading technical initiatives spanning multiple engineers or systems.
