As a Staff Software Engineer, you will work on high-impact projects that directly improve healthcare operations. You'll ship production code from day one, gaining exposure to a broad technology stack while rapidly expanding your scope and influence. This role offers significant autonomy to affect the company roadmap and deliver features with meaningful impact on the healthcare system.
Key responsibilities include scoping and leading large projects while managing ambiguity and ensuring technical excellence, helping shape the engineering team roadmap by balancing technical and product tradeoffs, mentoring and developing engineering team members, and writing substantial amounts of production code. You'll work within a modern tech stack: Python and Django on the backend, React, JavaScript, and TypeScript on the frontend.
The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of software engineering experience with a track record of mentoring and leading teams, ideally in startup environments. You should have hands-on experience across multiple functional areas—frontend, backend, platform, services, data, or cloud infrastructure—with a strong technical foundation. You'll excel at cross-functional collaboration, balancing technical and product success, and communicating clearly with diverse stakeholders. The role reports to an Engineering Manager and offers base compensation of $210,000–$260,000 plus equity and benefits.
