As a Staff Software Engineer on the Collectives Team, you will lead the design and development of the Collectives Communication Library, which enables users to utilize large computing clusters efficiently. This role involves designing, implementing, testing, and documenting a communication library optimized for new AI hardware accelerators, achieving high bandwidth and low latency at scale.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing, implementing, testing, and documenting the Collectives Communication Library for new AI hardware accelerators
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and test new features
- Troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues in distributed systems
- Ensuring seamless integration of new hardware with the existing AI ecosystem
- Mentoring junior engineers and driving technical excellence
- Participating in agile development as part of a scrum team
You will need extensive experience in C++ software development, with proficiency in Python and C. Strong knowledge of multithreading, inter-process communication (IPC), and concurrent application development is essential. Experience with unit testing frameworks (Boost.Test, Google Test), build tools (CMake, Make, Ninja), and version control systems (Git) is required.
Desirable qualifications include experience with RDMA networking libraries (libibverbs, libfabric), communication libraries (NCCL, MPI), CI/CD pipelines, parallel computing and HPC optimization, modern C++ standards (17/20), and familiarity with machine learning frameworks like PyTorch.
