As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll join the Engineering team as a senior individual contributor shipping meaningful product work while helping evolve how teams build software. The team is transitioning to an AI-native development model where humans design, spec, and evaluate solutions while AI accelerates implementation.
You'll operate as a full-stack engineer across a modern, interconnected codebase (Node, TypeScript, React, SQL, AWS, GCP) while influencing technical direction, team practices, and AI-native adoption. You may embed in product pods, act as a technical lead within a pod, or partner across high-ambiguity initiatives where the path forward needs hands-on shaping.
Key responsibilities include: shipping end-to-end product features with customer impact; designing and building across the full stack; using AI as a core workflow tool (specs, code generation, critical evaluation); pairing with engineers to transfer practices through collaboration; driving ambiguous or high-impact problems; making thoughtful technical decisions with incomplete information; shaping technical foundations (service boundaries, data flows, APIs, observability, reliability, deployment); debugging complex distributed systems; owning production systems including observability, reliability, deployments, postmortems, and on-call; and improving large, interconnected production codebases with empathy for legacy systems.
You thrive in dynamic, growth-stage environments with shifting priorities and fluid scope. You lead through execution, earning credibility by shipping, pairing, modeling strong practices, and helping teams sustain improvements. You balance speed with strong engineering standards, architectural judgment, and quality. You enjoy mentoring, transferring knowledge through hands-on collaboration, and influencing technical direction without formal authority.
