As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be a technical anchor for the business, taking long-term accountability for technical health and strategic direction across key domains. You'll work through a pooled hiring model initially, then transition to team-matching based on your technical strengths and career interests. Key responsibilities include: **Strategic Impact Areas:** - Platform Data Ecosystem: Shape how data flows across the product suite to establish a single source of truth for private market data - Financial Systems Architecture: Design resilient, scalable solutions for management fee accounting and multi-currency transactions - Engineering Excellence: Define company-wide standards that reduce operational load and improve developer velocity across dozens of teams **Core Responsibilities:** - Navigate ambiguity by tackling complex, poorly-defined problems and breaking them into navigable paths for the organization - Champion systemic improvement by identifying failure patterns across systems and driving architectural changes for scalability and reliability - Bridge technical gaps using deep cross-functional understanding to align multiple teams on major technical decisions - Lead AI integration efforts by defining context and building guardrails for safe, effective AI tool adoption across engineering - Uphold engineering standards by setting vision for operational excellence and mentoring senior engineers **Required Qualifications:** - 10+ years of professional software engineering experience with demonstrated high-level technical leadership - Expert in building distributed systems - Proficiency with Python/Django, React, and PostgreSQL; comfort guiding technical direction across JVM languages, gRPC, and cloud-native AWS infrastructure - Leadership through influence rather than authority; role model for constructive communication and technical discipline - Visionary approach: anticipate future roadblocks and build systems supporting long-term business growth The role offers competitive market salary, equity, and exceptional benefits.
