Lab37 Robotics is building software that connects kitchen teams, cloud services, and robotic production systems for direct-to-customer food production. As a Staff Full-Stack Software Engineer, you will own significant product and technical areas spanning frontend, backend, cloud infrastructure, integrations, and robot-adjacent interfaces. You will build the software platform that powers kitchen operations—order intake, menus, recipes, task management, alerts, and performance visibility. This includes integrations with delivery and commerce platforms, operator-facing interfaces, and robot-adjacent systems used in physical production environments. You'll work alongside firmware and robotics engineers to ensure cohesive system functionality. Key responsibilities include owning and delivering complex full-stack initiatives; leading technical design and architecture for new capabilities; partnering with product, culinary, and operations teams to translate workflows into pragmatic solutions; creating operator-facing and robot-adjacent interfaces; and owning projects through rollout and production support including testing, observability, incident diagnosis, and iterative improvement. You will also set a strong example through design reviews, code reviews, technical documentation, and thoughtful engineering tradeoffs. You'll mentor engineers, improve development practices, establish technical culture and standards for the Los Angeles team, and contribute to hiring and technical calibration as the team grows. Required: 10+ years of strong software engineering experience with ownership of complex systems across multiple components. Demonstrated ability to lead technical design in ambiguous, fast-moving environments. Deep experience in at least one backend language (Go experience valuable but not required). Strong frontend skills with modern TypeScript frameworks (Vue helpful but not required). Experience designing APIs, services, data models, and asynchronous/event-driven workflows. Strong product judgment and ability to translate operational problems into simple, usable software. Track record of improving architecture, reliability, testing, observability, or developer productivity. Clear written and verbal communication. Comfort working across boundaries and collaborating with technical and non-technical partners. Ability to mentor engineers and influence technical direction without formal authority. Nice to have: AWS services, distributed systems, databases, queues, cross-region architectures, Docker, Kubernetes, Protobuf, Python, Terraform, Git, continuous delivery systems, simulation environments, SQL, analytics platforms, operational dashboards, experience with hardware/robotics/logistics/manufacturing/fulfillment, and building internal tools for high-availability real-time environments.
