Salary: USD 201,000 - 250,500 / annual

You will design and build resilient, event-driven distributed systems that power AI-driven health companions and complex healthcare integrations. This Staff-level role combines hands-on technical leadership with mentorship responsibilities. You'll own technical initiatives across the full stack—from AI/ML-powered health guidance tools to EMR, billing, and scheduling integrations—while defining engineering standards and architectural patterns that enable the team to scale.
Key responsibilities include: designing scalable distributed architectures for personalized care delivery; implementing systems that handle healthcare compliance and data privacy requirements; mentoring engineers and fostering technical excellence; partnering with product, clinical, and data teams to translate healthcare requirements into technical solutions; and driving build vs. buy decisions and infrastructure investments.
Required qualifications: 7+ years of software engineering experience with 2+ years in a Staff or Principal role; proven track record designing distributed systems at scale; strong full-stack capabilities in modern backend technologies (Python, TypeScript, Go) and AWS; experience architecting systems in regulated industries (healthcare, fintech); demonstrated mentorship ability; and excellent communication skills.
Bonus experience includes healthcare technology background (EMR integrations, HL7/FHIR standards, telehealth), AI agents or Model Context Protocol integrations, high-growth startup scaling experience (Series B–D), and familiarity with Next.js and CQRS.
