We are seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the design and development of central components within Aidoc's R&D organization. This role combines hands-on development with architectural leadership, requiring you to solve complex engineering challenges, guide teams through design decisions, and ensure systems are robust, scalable, and maintainable.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the design and implementation of scalable, reliable backend services
- Driving architectural discussions and making key technical decisions within your domain
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to translate business and product goals into technical solutions
- Delivering high-quality, maintainable, testable code with best practices for security, performance, and reliability
- Mentoring and supporting engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and knowledge sharing
- Continuously improving development processes, observability, and deployment pipelines
- Contributing to platform architecture evolution as the company scales
Required qualifications:
- 10+ years of hands-on experience designing and developing complex, production-grade systems
- Proven track record architecting and leading large-scale software projects
- Deep understanding of system design, distributed systems, and software architecture patterns
- Strong coding skills in modern backend languages (Python, Go, Node.js, Java, C#)
- Experience with cloud environments (AWS or equivalent), containerized deployments, and infrastructure as code (Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform)
- Experience designing and scaling event-driven architectures and data-intensive systems
- Excellent communication and influencing skills to align multiple teams toward shared technical vision
- Proactive mindset with strong ownership and passion for solving complex engineering problems
