Salary: USD 188,000 - 230,000 / annual

As a Staff Android Software Engineer, you will be a technical leader and multiplier for the Hospitality group, overseeing the technical direction of Android-native POS and handheld applications used by thousands of restaurants daily. This is a hands-on staff individual contributor role where you will write production code, lead design reviews, guide architecture, and mentor engineers. Key responsibilities include: - Defining and driving the multi-year architectural roadmap for Android applications, with focus on offline-first capabilities and real-time data syncing - Leading high-impact cross-functional technical projects spanning multiple squads, such as codebase modularization, local data persistence optimization, and UI layer modernization with Jetpack Compose - Owning stability and performance of the hospitality suite, designing resilient systems for 24/7 commercial kitchen environments - Mentoring Senior and Mid-level engineers, setting standards for code quality, documentation, and automated testing - Partnering with Product, Design, and leadership to evaluate feasibility and align technical investments with business outcomes - Improving developer productivity through CI/CD, automated testing, and responsible AI-assisted engineering tools Required qualifications include 10+ years of professional software engineering with significant Android experience at scale, deep Kotlin expertise (coroutines, Flow, structured concurrency), experience with large multi-module Android applications, strong understanding of Android architecture patterns (MVVM, MVI, Clean Architecture), complex local data management and offline-first workflows, ability to diagnose cross-layer performance issues, and proven track record leading technical initiatives across teams. Preferred experience includes POS/hospitality/retail/payments software, payment SDK integration, device services and peripherals, mobile observability tools, and improving CI/CD and release quality for mobile teams.
