Salary: USD 320,000 - 405,000 / annual
Anthropic is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to join the Claude mobile team and build cutting-edge Android applications that leverage advanced language models. The role focuses on architecting and implementing high-impact mobile products that bring AI capabilities to users through elegant, user-friendly interfaces.
Key responsibilities include architecting and implementing advanced Android applications, developing novel solutions that leverage AI technologies, optimizing performance across the mobile stack, championing best practices in mobile development, and maintaining obsessive attention to detail in app experience. You will contribute to backend systems as needed and work closely with engineers, researchers, design, and product teams.
Required qualifications include deep expertise in Kotlin, Jetpack Compose, Android SDK, and the broader Android ecosystem. You should have proficiency with the latest mobile platform capabilities, practical experience with full-stack development and backend technologies, and a proven track record of shipping impactful, high-adoption mobile applications. Strong communication and mentorship skills are essential, along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Preferred qualifications include 0-to-1 product-building experience in early-stage environments, experience building applications that utilize modern ML/AI technology, expertise in 3D graphics, visual effects, audio and video streaming on mobile, and a vision for the future of human-machine interaction.
