Rippling is a unified workforce platform that consolidates HR, IT, and Finance operations. The company has raised $1.4B+ from top-tier investors and serves enterprises globally.
The AI Governance team is building Rippling's solution to enterprise AI governance—a critical gap as organizations struggle to manage AI usage across employees, developers, and business systems. Today, companies lack visibility into who uses which AI apps, what data leaves the company, which agents access sensitive systems, and actual AI spending.
As a Staff Software Engineer on AI Governance, you will help define and build a new product category at the intersection of identity, access control, model routing, MCP (Model Context Protocol) security, data protection, spend management, and auditability. You will work on foundational platform systems that make AI usage attributable, policy-aware, budget-aware, and auditable at runtime.
This is a high-ambiguity, high-impact role for someone who wants to build core platform technology while staying close to a rapidly evolving customer problem. You will design systems that give enterprises one governed path for AI usage across employees, agents, models, and business tools. The role requires deep technical expertise in distributed systems, security, and infrastructure, combined with the ability to navigate ambiguity and shape product direction in an emerging space.
