Delinea is an identity security platform that uses AI-powered intelligence to govern human and machine identities across cloud and traditional infrastructure. The company is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to build discovery and posture assessment capabilities for AI agents—a critical gap as AI agents proliferate across enterprises faster than security teams can track them.
In this role, you will architect and build the technical foundation to discover AI agents wherever they run (cloud platforms and endpoints) and assess their security posture. You'll extend Delinea's existing cloud discovery platform rather than building from scratch, starting with Microsoft Azure and expanding to AWS and Google Cloud. You'll also develop endpoint-based agent discovery, a newer surface for the team. Your work will feed discovered agents and their context into the identity and attribution layer so they can be governed in real-time.
You'll partner closely with platform teams whose discovery services your work builds on, breaking down complex, ambiguous problems and selecting sound technical approaches with limited direction. This is a high-impact role reporting directly to the Director of Engineering, Securing AI, at a company backed by TPG with strong product leadership and a global engineering team.
Required: 8+ years building production cloud or SaaS backend systems; hands-on experience with cloud provider APIs (Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) and asset discovery or inventory systems; experience extending or integrating with existing platforms; strong skills in modern backend languages (C#, Go, Java, or Python); ability to work with ambiguity and limited direction.
Desirable: endpoint agent or device management experience; background in security or posture management (CSPM, CIEM); familiarity with AI agent frameworks and authentication patterns.
