Salary: USD 205,000 - 231,000 / annual

As a Staff Software Engineer on the AI CI/CD team, you will own features end-to-end—from design through implementation, rollout, and iteration. You'll work on next-generation products at the intersection of security and AI, including the Guardener, hardened GitHub Actions, and Chainguard Agent Skills. This is a small, fast-moving team shipping tools that developers actually use.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning features end-to-end in close partnership with Product and the front-end team
- Navigating ambiguous problems and taking initiative rather than waiting for complete specifications
- Contributing to a product-driven roadmap with real deadlines, prioritizing tradeoffs and shipping iteratively
- Extending Chainguard's agentic AI foundation into customer-facing product experiences across the full product suite
- Bringing strong technical perspective to architectural decisions and collaborating with the team
- Guiding technical decisions and promoting a culture of excellence
Required qualifications:
- 10+ years of software development experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
- Deep expertise with containers, artifact registries, Docker, Kubernetes, and the broader ecosystem
- Experience building and securing CI/CD systems
- Proficiency with Go (Golang) or strong readiness to ramp quickly
- Experience with AI tooling and enthusiasm for applying it to complex problems
- Strong communication skills, English proficiency, ability to work autonomously and seek help proactively
- Enthusiasm for working closely with Product teams and customers to launch new features
