Salary: USD 205,000 - 231,000 / annual

As a Staff Software Engineer on the AI CI/CD team, you will own features end-to-end—from design through implementation, rollout, and iteration. You'll work on products including the Guardener, hardened GitHub Actions, Chainguard Agent Skills, and emerging AI-driven tools. This is a high-impact role on a small, fast-moving team shipping developer-focused tools.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning features end-to-end in close partnership with Product and front-end teams
- Navigating ambiguous problems and taking initiative to find clear paths forward
- Contributing to a product-driven roadmap with real deadlines, prioritizing tradeoffs and shipping iteratively
- Extending Chainguard's agentic AI foundation into customer-facing product experiences
- Bringing strong technical perspective to architectural decisions and collaborating with the team
- Guiding technical decisions and promoting a culture of excellence
You'll need 10+ years of software development experience, deep expertise with containers, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD systems, and proficiency in Go or strong readiness to ramp quickly. Experience with AI tooling and genuine enthusiasm for applying it to complex problems is essential. Strong communication skills, English proficiency, and ability to work autonomously are required. A bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience is expected.
