Relativity Space is building Terran R, a commercial launch vehicle designed to deliver payloads to orbit. Dark Matter Lab, a research group within Relativity, focuses on advanced aerospace systems and agentic engineering technologies. This Staff Software Engineer role owns and evolves a sophisticated stack of interconnected agentic systems including SybilClaw, yapCAD, Mechatron, Multigraph, local LLM inference, inter-agent message buses, parametric CAD pipelines, and supporting infrastructure.
You will be responsible for the reliability and evolution of agentic infrastructure as it transitions from prototype to production engineering systems. Key responsibilities include: owning the reliability of agents, sessions, model routing, context pipelines, and inter-agent communication; building and maintaining infrastructure where off-the-shelf solutions don't yet exist; deploying and operating local LLM inference across Mac Studio and GPU hardware; managing Linux/macOS systems, Proxmox VMs, containers, storage, backups, and recovery; maintaining multi-site networking including L3 routing, VLANs, DNS, firewalls, and connectivity; building CLIs, dashboards, automation, and internal tools; improving observability, debugging, and automated failure recovery; and contributing upstream to open-source projects.
This role requires hands-on experience deploying agentic harnesses (OpenClaw, Hermes, SybilClaw, or comparable systems) in real work environments. You understand what it takes to make these systems reliable when engineers depend on them daily. You'll learn the stack, improve it, and work with forward-deployed engineers to package portions for deployment with internal and external customers.
