Zscaler is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer to join its cloud security platform team in Bangalore or Hyderabad, India. This hybrid role reports to the Senior Manager of Software Engineering and focuses on Python automation, test framework development, and networking diagnostics for the world's largest in-line cloud security platform.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and maintain cloud-based software solutions, leveraging Python automation to test at scale while diagnosing and resolving complex customer issues in production environments. Your responsibilities include developing and maintaining robust, scalable test automation frameworks for enterprise cloud security products, integrating automated test APIs into modern CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab), and providing actionable insights to the development team to enhance product debugging capabilities.
The ideal candidate brings strong Python programming expertise for building test automation tools and utilities, hands-on experience developing test automation frameworks (preferably PyTest), and practical troubleshooting skills in Linux/Unix environments. You should demonstrate proven ability to build tools that streamline testing workflows and improve engineering productivity.
Preferred qualifications include experience designing or supporting enterprise-grade security or networking products, proficiency with AI code assistance tools (e.g., Gemini Code Assist), and strong debugging skills across complex Network, Cloud Infrastructure, HTTP/HTTPS, and TLS protocols in customer environments.
