Salary: USD 250,400 - 465,100 / annual
Veeam, the Data and AI Trust Company, is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to lead system-level and infrastructure testing at their San Jose lab. You will serve as the hands-on technical owner for end-to-end platform stability, bridging physical on-premises hardware dependencies with containerized Kubernetes topologies and cloud edge environments.
In this role, you will:
• Build and maintain end-to-end local test environments in San Jose that mirror edge-to-cloud topologies, hardware interfaces, and localized system deployments
• Architect local Kubernetes clusters (K3s, Kind, Minikube) and cloud emulator harnesses (AWS LocalStack, Azure Edge) to enable fully offline, system-level validation
• Profile OS-level resource usage including CPU, memory leaks, I/O bottlenecks, and network latency
• Run hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) and local service-level automated test suites
• Maintain the physical and virtual San Jose lab environment, building automated orchestration tools to reset, patch, and reconfigure test rigs deterministically

Requirements:
• 8+ years of experience in system-level SDET, platform engineering, or embedded/infrastructure software testing
• Advanced programming skills in C++, Python, or Go
• Strong Linux internals knowledge, networking protocols (TCP/IP, sockets), and inter-process communication (IPC)
• Deep hands-on experience with Kubernetes, container runtimes, and local cloud emulation (AWS/Azure)
• Experience managing physical or virtual lab testbeds, edge hardware topologies, or local hardware-software integration loops
