Zscaler is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer to join its engineering team in Bangalore on a hybrid basis, reporting to the Director of Engineering. The role focuses on quality assurance and test automation for the Zscaler Client Connector, a core component of the Zero Trust Exchange platform. You will develop and maintain automation frameworks and test infrastructure to expand coverage across Zscaler's product features. Key responsibilities include creating exhaustive test plans, executing both manual and automated test cases, identifying root causes of defects, and collaborating closely with Development, Product Management, and Cloud Operations teams from design through release. You'll work in a fast-paced environment to deliver high-quality, robust products and will recreate complex customer and production-reported issues to verify fixes. REQUIREMENTS: - 5+ years' experience as a Software QA Engineer working on VPN-related products or network traffic testing/automation - Foundational understanding of AI/ML technologies and experience leveraging, securing, or positioning AI-driven solutions within your functional domain - Proficient programming skills (Python preferred) with hands-on experience developing automation frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and leading automated test case development - Strong knowledge of TCP/IP stack, ICMP/UDP, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS, DNS, and DHCP - Proficiency in networking fundamentals (L3, L4, L7), proxies, firewalls, routers, and load balancers PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Experience implementing AIOps, AI-driven predictive scaling, or automated anomaly detection to optimize cloud infrastructure - Hands-on experience configuring VPNs and setting up GRE/IPSec tunnels - Experience setting up testbeds in virtualization environments
