Zscaler is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer to join the Identity & Access Management team in Bangalore. This hybrid role reports to the Sr. Manager, Engineering and focuses on building scalable identity management products that help customers manage digital risk through security integration and controls.
You will lead the development of identity management products, designing and implementing high-performance backend services and APIs using Java. Key responsibilities include architecting scalable solutions, ensuring code quality through comprehensive testing (unit, integration, performance), collaborating across product and business teams, and participating in on-call rotations to support a highly available platform.
The role requires deep proficiency in enterprise Java, object-oriented programming, systems architecture, and RESTful APIs with frameworks like Hibernate and Spring. You should have hands-on experience with SQL/Postgres, Docker, Kubernetes, and major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP). Strong understanding of CI/CD tools and processes is essential, along with exceptional problem-solving skills and root cause analysis capabilities.
Preferred qualifications include DevOps automation expertise, experience with AI-driven anomaly detection or identity analytics, and knowledge of IAM protocols (OAuth, OpenID Connect, SAML, Federation, SSO).
