Salary: CAD 176,000 - 264,000 / annual
Clio is seeking a Staff Software Engineer specializing in internationalization to join its rapidly growing engineering team. This is a new role available to candidates in Toronto, Dublin, and Barcelona.
The role focuses on building the technical foundations that enable development teams across Clio to create global-ready products without sacrificing development speed. You will act as a technical stakeholder for multiple projects within your area of focus, partnering with development managers to define technical roadmaps and identify/resolve technical blockers that unlock product opportunities.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Writing high-quality, well-tested code and collaborating with developers to solve complex problems
- Reviewing and providing constructive feedback on peer code across teams
- Simplifying coding patterns, interfaces, and abstractions to improve approachability
- Teaching and mentoring engineers, providing feedback to support their growth
- Working with a diverse technology stack, learning new tools, and challenging yourself
- Recognizing when simple solutions are the right ones
You should have:
- Proven experience in software development, particularly building web applications at scale using Ruby on Rails
- Demonstrated mentorship success in software development, especially with Agile processes and large-scale SaaS products
- Ability to master new technologies quickly and work effectively in dynamic, distributed environments
- Diverse technical knowledge to help teams solve complex problems
- Portfolio of successful projects and lessons learned from failures
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build trusted relationships
- International/global development experience is a plus
