Zscaler is seeking an experienced Staff Site Reliability Engineer to join the SRE Cloud Infrastructure & Operations team, reporting directly to the Director of Site Reliability Engineering. This is a high-impact individual contributor role focused on architecting, scaling, and maintaining next-generation cloud infrastructure at scale.
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing advanced cloud management automations to eliminate toil and accelerate delivery; overseeing containerized architectures using EKS and GKE for robust production performance; leading the creation and optimization of highly scalable monitoring and alerting systems; owning cloud operations, deployments, on-call support, and incident management; and serving as a core member of cross-functional project teams.
The ideal candidate brings 4+ years of experience designing, analyzing, and troubleshooting large-scale distributed systems. Required technical expertise includes SRE best practices, Python, Terraform, Ansible, Kubernetes, and AWS cloud. You must have comprehensive understanding of web security and core protocols (HTTP, SSL/TLS, DNS, SQL) and proven experience building observability architectures with Grafana, SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets. Strong DevOps skills across CI/CD pipelines, source control, and continuous integration are essential.
