Graphcore, a globally recognized leader in AI computing systems and member of the SoftBank Group, is opening a new AI Engineering Campus in Bengaluru. This Staff-level role sits within the silicon design team, which encompasses RTL, verification, DFT, architecture, packaging, and product engineering. The physical design team is responsible for creating high-quality RTL and building final chip layouts (GDSII) to deliver signoff-quality designs to foundries like TSMC.
You will contribute technically to the development of Graphcore's next-generation AI superchips, focusing on robust, high-performance, and power-efficient designs in leading-edge process technologies while meeting ambitious development schedules. Your responsibilities span multiple areas: using state-of-the-art EDA tools and in-house Graphcore flows to deliver signoff-quality designs; enhancing existing flows and in-house tools/APIs to support new features and methodologies; analyzing and debugging complex engineering problems to develop workable solutions; and developing understanding of emerging technical issues to optimize in-house flows and methodologies.
You will work closely with other teams within Graphcore and with third-party support engineers and contractors, ensuring good communication and contributing meaningfully to the overall efficiency and success of the Physical Design team. The environment is collaborative and open, with engineers trusted and encouraged to take ownership of their designs and problem solutions. The team continuously looks for improvements to designs, flows, methodologies, and infrastructure.
Required qualifications include a degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related subject with 3+ years of industry experience in silicon physical design. You must be highly motivated, a self-starter, and a strong team player with excellent problem-solving skills.
