6sense is seeking a Staff Security Engineer to join the Security Operations and Threat Management team. This is a high-impact individual contributor role focused on protecting the company through prevention, detection, investigation, and response to security incidents and threats. Key responsibilities include executing SecOps and threat management initiatives aligned with the security roadmap; identifying and responding to complex security incidents including system compromise, intrusion attempts, and denial of service attacks through continuous monitoring, vulnerability assessments, and log analysis; engaging cross-functional teams (Infrastructure, IT, GRC, Cloud, Application Security) to validate alerts and perform root cause analysis; researching emerging threats and proactively implementing mitigating controls; performing security forensics; building security tools and advanced automation to enable the team to operate at scale; proposing and leading threat exercises based on current security trends and research; and mentoring engineers across Information Security on security controls and risk remediation. The role requires communicating security risks and mitigations to audiences with varying levels of technical sensitivity, participating in on-call rotations, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of 6sense's product and infrastructure, and executing quarterly OKRs. You will develop and maintain runbooks, workflows, and dashboards while driving incidents to closure within established SLAs. Required qualifications: 5+ years in Security Operations or similar team; 3+ years developing automation; 2+ years conducting adversary emulation exercises; experience with security tools and cloud environments (vulnerability scanners, SIEM, SOAR, AWS); and familiarity with industry frameworks and standards (MITRE ATT&CK, STRIDE, PASTA, ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR, PCI, SOX, NIST). Preferred: Bachelor's degree in a related field; relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GIAC.
