Salary: USD 164,000 - 190,000 / annual
Ibotta, a leading performance marketing platform (NYSE: IBTA) headquartered in Denver, is seeking a Staff Salesforce Engineer to serve as the senior technical leader for its Salesforce platform. This role is critical to Ibotta's revenue organization and technical ecosystem, spanning CRM, quote-to-cash, contract lifecycle, and billing.
You will set the technical direction and architecture for the Salesforce platform, owning the integration architecture between Salesforce and Ibotta's broader distributed, event-driven services. Key responsibilities include defining development, deployment, and code review practices; owning testing, reliability, and performance; partnering with product, engineering, architecture, and revenue stakeholders to translate technical risk and cost into actionable terms; simplifying complex inherited systems; and mentoring Salesforce engineers to raise the technical bar across the group.
The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of Salesforce engineering experience with demonstrated technical leadership across multiple teams. Required skills include deep Apex and Lightning Web Components expertise, solid grasp of Lightning architecture and the Salesforce data model, hands-on experience with at least one backend language (Java, Python, Go, Node.js), and experience with event-driven architecture, REST/SOAP APIs, Salesforce Platform Events, and Change Data Capture. You should be proficient with Salesforce release and deployment practices, version control (Git), and tooling such as Copado and Salesforce DX, with CPQ experience required.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics, or related field (or equivalent practical experience) is required. Clear written communication and the ability to document architecture and decisions for team action are essential. Nice-to-have qualifications include a track record of simplifying complex systems, experience integrating Salesforce with authoritative business logic systems, experience setting engineering standards across teams with contractors, familiarity with AI-assisted development, and Salesforce certifications.
This is a hybrid position requiring 3 days in office (Tuesday–Thursday) in Denver. Relocation assistance is available.
