Anduril Industries is seeking a Staff Robotics Software Engineer to lead the delivery of vehicle perception and planning capabilities for autonomous systems. You will serve as a technical leader and senior individual contributor on the Maneuver Dominance team, which develops multi-asset autonomy solutions leveraging Anduril's drone platforms (Ghost, Altius) and third-party systems integrated into the Lattice OS ecosystem.
Key responsibilities include owning customer success through multi-year, multi-stakeholder software roadmaps spanning multiple teams; architecting and implementing safe navigation, collision avoidance, and situational awareness systems; and driving development of sensor suites, perception algorithms, and planning algorithms. You will perform high-impact individual contributor work across the perception and planning stack while also leading teams in design and implementation. The role involves utilizing advanced techniques in computer vision, sensor fusion, and machine learning to enhance autonomous vehicle capabilities.
You will conduct thorough testing and validation of perception and planning algorithms through simulation and real-world experimentation, evolving data analysis tooling as needed. Collaboration with cross-functional teams—including software, mechanical, and systems engineers—is essential for effective system integration. Travel to co-locate with end-users and other teams is expected up to 20% of the time.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience; 7+ years of C++ and/or Python software development; familiarity with autonomous vehicle hardware (radar, sonar, LIDAR, cameras); demonstrated knowledge of computer vision, sensor fusion, SLAM, motion planning, or machine learning; and experience in a senior perception or planning role for robotic system delivery. You must have the capacity to act as technical owner for systems, including stakeholder engagement, requirements definition, roadmap management, design, implementation, and sustainment. Ability to mentor junior team members and build team cohesion is critical. U.S. Secret security clearance eligibility is required.
