CesiumAstro is seeking a Principal RF Test Engineer to design, analyze, and implement engineering test plans and procedures for cutting-edge active phased array antenna (AESA) systems serving satellite, spacecraft, and aerospace communication applications. The role is part of the Skylark product line, which develops high-power ground terminals for missile defense and commercial airline/helicopter connectivity solutions.
Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with design and test engineering teams to develop test requirements, mapping requirements to reusable test architectures and procedures, implementing test plans and procedures, and logging and presenting results to stakeholders. You will manage lab operations and equipment, guide equipment purchase decisions, and architect RF test systems company-wide.
As a principal-level engineer, you will draw insightful conclusions from test results, participate in design-for-test planning from early product development stages, and present engineering design review materials to customers and executives. You will also contribute to proposal-writing efforts.
The ideal candidate combines strong hardware and software knowledge with proficiencies in RF measurements, test equipment (VSAs, VSGs, VNAs), test architectures, and automation. Experience with phased array testing is preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
This is a hands-on role in a dynamic startup environment where you will work across multi-disciplinary teams addressing company-wide hardware test needs. U.S. citizenship or eligible immigration status is required to comply with government space technology export regulations.
