CesiumAstro is seeking a Staff RF Engineer to join their hardware team developing cutting-edge communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and aerospace platforms. The Skylark product line focuses on active phased array antennas (AESA) for terrestrial and airborne applications, spanning high-power ground terminals for missile defense to commercial airline and helicopter connectivity. In this role, you will own RF circuits, modules, and systems across the full development lifecycle—from initial concept through in-orbit support. Responsibilities include board-level schematic design and PCB layout of RF circuits, system-level communications concepts (link budgets, modulation schemes), and end-to-end RF product development. You will work on phased array communication systems including RF front ends, frequency converters and synthesizers, filters, beamformers, power dividers, and phased array antennas. As a principal hardware team member, you will drive RF system and hardware designs from concept through requirements definition, architecture, part selection, detailed design, analysis, manufacturing, testing, and qualification. Tasks include block diagrams, detailed schematics, PCB layout and routing, simulations, and test design. You will serve as a technical and professional mentor to other engineers and may lead company programs. You will present engineering design review materials to customers and the executive team, and participate in proposal-writing efforts. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in board-level and system-level RF electronics design, with proficiency in RF circuit design, phased array systems, and hands-on hardware development in a startup or fast-paced environment. Note: U.S. citizenship or eligible immigration status required per ITAR/export control regulations.
