CesiumAstro is seeking a Staff RF Engineer to join its hardware team developing advanced communication systems for satellites, UAVs, launch vehicles, and aerospace platforms. This is a hands-on role spanning the full RF hardware development lifecycle—from concept and requirements definition through design, manufacturing, testing, qualification, and in-orbit support.
You will own RF circuits and systems design with deep expertise in board-level schematic design and PCB layout. The role encompasses system-level communications concepts including link budgets, modulation schemes, and phased array communication systems. Specific technical areas include RF front-ends, frequency converters and synthesizers, filters, beamformers, power dividers, and phased array antennas.
Key responsibilities include creating block diagrams, detailed schematics, PCB layout and routing, performing simulations, and designing test protocols. You will also present engineering design review materials to customers and the executive team, and contribute to proposal-writing efforts. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in RF electronics design at the board level and a strong foundation in aerospace/satellite communications.
The position requires excellent written and verbal communication skills, as you will interface with cross-functional teams, customers, and leadership. This is a dynamic startup environment focused on cutting-edge RF hardware for space and airborne applications.
Note: Due to U.S. Government Space Technology Export Regulations, applicants must be U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, conditional residents, asylees, refugees, or eligible to obtain required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.
