Relativity Space is developing the Terran R rocket to deliver payloads to orbit using advanced 3D printing manufacturing. This Staff Propulsion Test Engineer role sits on the Engine Systems & Test Team, responsible for leading integrated engine test campaigns and propulsion system development.
You will serve as the Responsible Engineer for propulsion test articles, owning the full lifecycle from test planning through execution. Key responsibilities include:
• Develop comprehensive test plans in collaboration with product owners and execute test campaigns at the Stennis test facility
• Own exploratory operations of new and existing test article designs, evaluating hardware behavior to support engine development and certification
• Perform hands-on work spanning test sequences, data analysis, hotfire console operations, tooling design, and technical troubleshooting
• Support engine subsystem troubleshooting, conduct system-level analysis and simulation, and lead trade studies
• Initiate and own projects that increase team efficiency and capability
• As the program progresses, participate in stage testing and flight campaigns, including launch operations console support and concept-of-operations definition
The role is highly varied day-to-day, requiring both deep technical expertise and collaborative leadership. You'll work closely with component engineers, manufacturing teams, test operations at Stennis, and launch teams at Cape Canaveral. The position offers early-stage impact on a tangible, momentum-building vehicle program where autonomy and ownership exist at every level.
