Relativity Space is building rockets to serve today's needs and tomorrow's breakthroughs. The Terran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting growing demand for launch capacity. The company is developing a rocket, manufacturing facility, and business from the ground up, with a culture emphasizing autonomy, ownership, and impact at every level. The Propulsion team focuses on developing and delivering highly performant, manufacturable engines for Terran R. Engineers own the entire lifecycle of their parts, from initial design through production to qualification and flight. The team fosters bottoms-up decision-making and accountability at all levels. As the flight configuration enters qualification, the team is exploring modifications for future engines, including thrust upgrades, new cycles, and design for mass production. As a Staff Propulsion Engineer on the Propulsion Integrated Design team, you will own the overall layout and packaging of Aeon-R engines across all configurations (development, qualification, acceptance, first stage vs. upper stage). You will design and analyze final integration hardware such as secondary structures, fluid manifolds, tubing, and custom fittings. You'll work closely with component and sub-system owners across the Propulsion department to drive toward optimal engine design, lead clean sheet conceptual design and layouts of new/upgraded engine configurations, and own and release top-level CAD models of the engine assembly. You will track and report mass/mass projections of the Aeon-R engines and own the Interface Control Diagram for Aeon-R engines, requiring close collaboration with vehicle and test stand partners. This is a high-impact individual contributor role with significant technical scope and influence across the propulsion organization. You'll be solving complex engineering problems that haven't been solved before, with your work directly influencing the design and performance of a commercial rocket engine.
