Affirm is building a consumer loyalty program from scratch for millions of Affirm Card users. This Staff Product Manager role owns the complete vision, roadmap, and execution of the loyalty program—from designing earn mechanics and tier structures to building engagement loops that turn one-time borrowers into weekly users.
Key responsibilities include:
- Own the vision and multi-quarter roadmap for the consumer loyalty program, including hypotheses, success metrics, and sequencing
- Launch the first version of rewards and tiers, including earn mechanics, member benefits, redemption flows, and in-app surfaces that highlight value at checkout and post-purchase
- Design engagement loops (progress indicators, milestones, personalized offers) to drive repeat usage and increase share of wallet
- Own program economics: model reward liability, funding mix across merchant-funded offers, interchange and network incentives, and calculate incremental GMV against cost per member
- Build the measurement foundation for loyalty, including holdout groups, incrementality testing, and long-run LTV analysis; tune earn/burn rates and tier thresholds based on data
- Partner cross-functionally with Risk, Credit, Legal, Compliance, Finance, and Marketing to design compliant rewards with transparent disclosure and no hidden fees
- Align senior stakeholders and coordinate dependencies across Card, Shopping, Servicing, and Marketing teams; lead embedded engineering and design pods through ambiguity
This is a high-impact role requiring deep expertise in loyalty program design, consumer fintech, and the ability to launch products from scratch while managing complex financial and regulatory constraints.
Requirements:
- 8+ years in Product Management with a track record in consumer mobile apps, fintech, or neobanks
- Built or scaled a loyalty, rewards, or engagement program (card rewards, points, tiers, subscription benefits, or equivalent); understand earn/burn mechanics and program unit economics
- History of launching products from scratch, not just optimizing existing ones
- Owned repeat usage, cohort retention, or share of wallet as a primary metric; know which levers move them
- Comfortable building financial models and defending reward cost, funding mix, and payback to Finance and leadership
- Strong UX instincts and high design bar; understand what makes a reward feel valuable vs. buried in settings
- Deep fluency in experiment design, incrementality/attribution, and LTV measurement; data skills (SQL/Amplitude-level self-serve) and bias for shipping, learning, and iterating quickly
- Track record shipping consumer financial or regulated products; comfort partnering with Risk/Credit, Legal, and Compliance
- Excellent cross-functional leadership, including experience leading without authority
- Proficiency with AI tools (Claude Code, Cursor, etc.) for research, analysis, and prototyping
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
