Kraken, one of the world's longest-standing crypto platforms trusted by over 10 million individuals and institutions, is hiring a Senior Product Manager to design and ship social experiences around investing and trading.
You will own the complete product vision for social journeys at Kraken—from discovery and following to sharing trades and ideas, receiving responses, and driving retention. This is a hands-on role where you design flows yourself, build interactive prototypes, and work through interaction details with designers and engineers. You'll make core product decisions: which customer problems to solve, what to ship first, and how to measure whether the experience improved.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design complete social journeys that users understand intuitively, connecting discovery, following, sharing, and response into a cohesive experience.
- Own interaction details: navigation, information hierarchy, copy, defaults, gestures, and feedback. Handle edge cases like empty feeds, failed posts, slow loading, and user hesitation.
- Build interactive prototypes in Figma, code, or AI tools to communicate intended behavior, explore alternatives, and give engineering clear flows and acceptance criteria.
- Apply behavioral psychology to improve participation—understand why people hesitate to post or follow, and translate those insights into design decisions around visibility, prompts, reputation, and effort.
- Run usability sessions and combine user observations with funnel data to identify friction points and abandonment.
- Design for both first-time and repeated use, keeping sharing lightweight during active trading while maintaining control over public visibility.
- Connect design decisions to measurable outcomes: define expected behavior, track task completion, first follows, contributions, responses, and retention. Work with data science to evaluate experiments.
- Guide the experience through launch: choose focused scope, resolve trade-offs with engineering, review implementation, and use post-launch evidence to prioritize improvements.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience designing and shipping consumer social experiences (feeds, profiles, sharing, messaging, discovery, or communities), with portfolio evidence of post-launch impact.
- Strong interaction design craft: ability to explain flow structure, user attention, comprehension, and which decisions or steps can be removed.
- Ability to build realistic interactive prototypes using Figma, code, AI tools, or combinations thereof, including transitions, empty states, and failure states.
- Evidence of understanding user behavior through research—show where research challenged assumptions and changed design.
- Proven ability to own product outcomes: prioritize problems, define success metrics, interpret funnel and cohort data, and determine whether experiments produced meaningful improvements.
- Understanding of social finance context: how credibility, incentives, reputation, and visibility of financial activity affect trust and sharing behavior.
