Heron Power is a startup building cutting-edge power electronics for grid modernization. As Staff Product Manager for Business Applications, you will own the complete product strategy and roadmap for Raven, the integrated suite of business systems running Heron's supply chain, factory floor, and back office operations. Raven encompasses a custom-built Manufacturing Execution System (MES) at its core, alongside warehouse and inventory management, Quality Management System (QMS), production and demand planning (MRP), recipe generation, new product introduction (NPI), analytics, transaction history and genealogy, and enterprise systems for Finance/GL, Customer, Supplier, and Service portals. You will define what the company builds in-house versus buys from third-party vendors, make strategic build-versus-buy decisions on ERP, CRM, and P2P platforms, specify requirements for custom-built systems starting with the MES, and sequence delivery across phases as Heron scales from early production into volume manufacturing. This is a strategic and deeply hands-on role where you own the vision for how the company plans, builds, tracks, and ships products, plus the data architecture providing end-to-end visibility and traceability. Key responsibilities include: owning the complete Raven platform strategy and phased delivery roadmap; defining and prioritizing MES requirements covering work orders, routings, recipe generation, station resource management, data collection from equipment, and production floor traceability; owning requirements for WMS/inventory, QMS, production planning, SPC, NPI, analytics, and transaction history; managing integration points to external systems and portals; ensuring compliance and traceability requirements are met; partnering deeply with operations, supply chain, quality, finance, and engineering to surface needs and resolve competing priorities; and defining metrics and ROI for systems investments. You must have 8+ years of product management or business systems experience, including leading enterprise or operational software platforms in manufacturing, supply chain, or hardware environments. Deep hands-on experience owning or implementing MES, ERP, WMS, QMS, or production/demand planning systems at scale is essential. You need demonstrated build-versus-buy judgment with a track record of selecting, integrating, and deploying both third-party SaaS and custom applications. Strong grasp of data architecture, system integration, master data, and traceability is required. You must be able to deliver complex cross-functional programs through influence rather than direct authority, aligning multiple stakeholder groups. Comfort operating in a fast-moving startup, building processes and systems from scratch with limited resources, and scaling as the company grows is critical. Strong communication skills translating system tradeoffs, risk, and ROI to leadership are essential. Nice-to-have qualifications include greenfield MES/QMS implementation experience in scaling production, background in power electronics or capital equipment manufacturing, and hands-on deployment experience with platforms like NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, or Oracle.
