Foodsmart is a nutrition-driven healthcare platform serving over 3 million members across employer-sponsored health plans, Medicaid managed care, Medicare Advantage, and commercial insurers. The company combines personalized clinical nutrition care from Registered Dietitians with behavior change tools, food benefits, and meal planning to improve health outcomes and lower costs. In 2024, Foodsmart secured $200 million in funding from TPG's Rise Fund to expand access to nutritious food for low-income populations.
You will own and scale the Food Access & Benefits platform — the product area powering Foodsmart's expanding portfolio of food programs, health benefits management, and ancillary services. Health plans increasingly need partners who can manage the complexity of delivering interconnected food-benefit and food-as-medicine offerings. You'll translate multi-party operational complexity into clean, scalable product capabilities.
Key responsibilities include:
**Service Line Ownership & Execution:** Own the end-to-end roadmap for the Food Access & Benefits pod — from discovery through launch and iteration. Become an expert in the food and benefits ecosystem through research and stakeholder relationships. Translate complex operational workflows and multi-party requirements into scalable, repeatable product capabilities rather than one-off implementations. Design and advocate for member experience, turning logistically burdensome processes into moments of delight. Partner with Engineering, Partnerships, and Operations to define systems architecture for configuring, launching, and managing benefits programs at scale across diverse client types. Balance client-driven urgency with the discipline of building compounding platform capabilities.
**Client & Operational Collaboration:** Design and own product systems that configure, launch, and manage benefits programs for members and clients. Build tools and workflows that Client Success, Partnerships, and Clinical Operations rely on. Partner with product marketing and commercial teams on go-to-market strategy for new services.
**Platform & Strategic Contribution:** Set strategy for the Food Access & Benefits pod with full autonomy while maintaining alignment with the Chief Product Officer and cross-functional leadership. Advocate for operational scalability and configurability across all product decisions. Influence adjacent pods and platform architecture to ensure food access and benefits capabilities are embedded appropriately in the broader member journey. Contribute to cross-pod planning and portfolio prioritization.
**Required Qualifications:**
- 7+ years of product management experience with meaningful time in B2B or B2B2C environments owning operationally complex product areas
- Track record of launching new products or service lines end-to-end in complex operational environments (not just iterating on existing features)
- Direct experience working alongside Implementation, Operations, or Client Success teams to build products that operational users depend on
- Experience building and launching products in close partnership with commercial and go-to-market teams, including enablement, rollout planning, and post-launch iteration
- Experience in AI-enabled product development processes and tools
**Nice-to-Haves:**
- Experience with benefits management platforms, employer health benefits, or government health program operations
- Exposure to food retail, food ordering, or supply chain partnerships in a digital health or consumer health context
**Desired Traits:** Operationally fluent with deep understanding of how complex, multi-party service programs run. Structured problem-solver who brings PM rigor to operationally heavy domains. Comfortable with ambiguity in new service areas. Trusted partner to operational and commercial stakeholders. Data-driven with strong execution instincts. Collaborative and low-ego. Passionate about addressing chronic challenges in providing low-income populations with proper food access and nutrition programs.
