Coursera (recently merged with Udemy) is seeking a Staff Product Manager to own the Creator Community product surface—a strategic initiative to help instructors build ongoing relationships with learners beyond traditional course consumption. The role addresses a market shift: learners increasingly seek live guidance, accountability, and community (currently happening off-platform on Patreon, Circle, Discord, Substack). You will own four interconnected product areas: (1) Community & Learner Connection—messaging, Q&A, announcements, and direct communications that drive recurring engagement; (2) Human-to-Human Learning—live formats including 1:1 connects, VILT, and webinars where creator expertise shines; (3) Instructor Profiles & Channels—creator homepages that serve as owned surfaces for brand-building and content promotion, especially as AI-driven discovery (Helix) reshapes traditional marketplace merchandising; (4) Creator Channels & Tooling—the operational layer including channel management, community tools, subscriptions, and recurring revenue models (50/30 or 70/30 splits depending on learner source). A flagship near-term initiative is scaling Instructor Communities from a 60-instructor pilot on Circle.so to a proven business line in 2027, including moving from manual billing to a production-ready Stripe integration. This is a high-impact role at the intersection of creator economy, community, and platform strategy, requiring deep product thinking, cross-functional leadership, and the ability to ship a new business model while maintaining platform coherence.
