Salary: USD 146,250 - 224,250 / annual
PathAI is seeking an experienced Staff Product Manager to lead AI-powered pathology products and shape the core product roadmap. The company's mission is to improve patient outcomes through AI-driven diagnostic and treatment solutions, with a track record in deploying AI algorithms for histopathology in translational research, pathology labs, and clinical trials.
In this Staff PM role, you will serve as a strategic leader and cross-functional connector, partnering with machine learning engineers, data scientists, pathologists, clinical specialists, biomedical researchers, quality, regulatory, and business operations teams. You will be responsible for defining multi-year product visions, building business cases, and driving high-impact AI/ML algorithms from initial scientific discovery through deployment and scaling.
Key responsibilities include:
- Defining and executing multi-year product strategy and roadmap for PathAI algorithm products within key business units or disease areas (e.g., oncology)
- Leading end-to-end product lifecycle: conducting explorations, building business cases, defining requirements, overseeing prototyping, and managing cross-functional deployment of new AI products and extensions
- Translating complex algorithmic discoveries into scalable, user-centric clinical and research tools
- Building compelling business cases to motivate development of novel technical, scientific, and platform capabilities
- Collaborating with Clinical Affairs, Quality, and Regulatory teams to support validation strategies and regulatory pathways (including Software as a Medical Device considerations)

REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Computational Biology, Biomedical Engineering, Biology, or related technical/scientific field
- 7+ years of product management experience with a track record of launching and scaling production AI/ML, data science, or bioinformatics products
- Demonstrated experience driving product development within healthcare, life sciences, digital pathology, or biotech domains
- Demonstrated understanding of end-to-end AI/ML product lifecycle, including model development, dataset curation, evaluation metrics, and post-launch algorithm monitoring
- Exceptional cross-functional collaboration and communication skills with ability to influence stakeholders across technical, scientific, clinical, and executive teams
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) and familiarity with regulatory frameworks (FDA 510(k)/PMA pathways, CE-IVD)
- Subject matter expertise or background in oncology, histopathology, or biomarker discovery
- Experience building products for translational research, biopharma partnerships, or clinical trial operations
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to efficiently evaluate, prioritize, and manage multiple changing projects
