Salary: CAD 190,500 - 262,000 / annual
Faire is a technology wholesale platform connecting independent retailers globally with suppliers and brands. The Brand pillar mission is to enable brands to create high-quality product listings, maintain them, and reach retailers efficiently—helping Main Street retailers compete with big-box stores.
As a Staff Product Engineer on the Brand pillar, you will be a technical leader responsible for executing the team's hardest features, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with product, design, and data teams to drive the pillar's mission forward. You'll work across different teams as priorities shift, supporting both short-term execution and long-term strategic initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating closely with product managers, designers, and marketing to contribute significantly to business and engineering platform success
- Identifying and capitalizing on new opportunities, overseeing complex multi-phase projects across multiple teams and platforms from concept to implementation
- Building features across multiple stacks (Backend, Frontend, Mobile)
- Optimizing web applications for peak performance and scalability
- Mentoring fellow engineers on technical and product judgment
You bring 5+ years of software engineering experience with proficiency in Java, Kotlin, or JavaScript. You're comfortable with agentic coding tools and familiar with HTML, CSS, TypeScript, and frameworks like React and Next.js. You have a track record of driving product improvements end-to-end, including problem identification and solution design. You hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
The tech stack includes Kotlin, Java, JavaScript, React, Next.js, MySQL, CockroachDB, and AWS. You're entrepreneurial, data-driven, and possess strong product sense. You balance excitement for building features with focus on long-term maintainability. You're motivated by using technology to help independent retailers and brands succeed and are eager to experiment with AI productivity tools.
Hybrid arrangement: 3 days per week in office (Tuesdays, Thursdays, plus one flex day), with flexibility to work remotely up to 4 weeks annually.
