As a Staff Product Engineer, you will be a technical leader within the engineering organization, contributing to both backend and frontend systems while mentoring other engineers. You'll work closely with product managers, designers, researchers, and data analysts to shape technical strategy and architecture.
Key responsibilities include:
- Contributing to technical architecture as the company scales to handle requests from thousands of customers
- Balancing agility with scalability and availability through continuous deployment and feature flagging
- Participating in all phases of software development: ideation, prototyping, design, and implementation
- Leading and mentoring engineers while raising technical standards for performance, reliability, and operational excellence
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver customer value
- Playing an active role in hiring and career development
You should have significant SaaS product experience, deep knowledge of high-level programming languages (Ruby, Python, Perl, etc.), and experience with distributed systems. The role requires 2+ years as a primary technical leader for a team, with a proven track record of delivering measurable impact on products and teams. You're a pragmatist who thrives in cross-disciplinary collaboration and understands product strategy.
