Fin, an AI Customer Agent company, is seeking a Staff Product Engineer to join the AI Group and help build Fin's AI-powered customer support products. The role involves working closely with ML Scientists and product teams to bring machine learning research into production systems that serve nearly 30,000 global businesses.
Key responsibilities include building systems that power Fin's flagship AI products using Python and Rails, partnering with ML Scientists to productionize proof-of-concept code, ensuring robustness and scalability for real-world use, and collaborating with product teams to shape AI-powered customer experiences. You will contribute across all phases of software development—ideation, prototyping, implementation, and testing—while also playing an active role in hiring, mentoring, and developing other engineers. The role emphasizes raising technical standards for reliability, performance, and operational excellence across the AI Group.
The ideal candidate brings 10+ years of experience shipping high-quality products and can demonstrate significant impact in prior work. While ML experience is not required, you should have strong software engineering fundamentals, deep knowledge of a high-level programming language (Python, Ruby, JavaScript, etc.), and a willingness to learn ML on the job. A BSc in Computer Science, Maths, Statistics, or related discipline is expected. The team values strong technical fundamentals, a bias toward progress over perfection, and a commitment to fighting for good outcomes. Previous experience in data analytics or statistical roles is a bonus.
