You will join the Growth team as a Staff Product Designer, embedding directly with the team to define roadmap, vision, and lead design initiatives. This is a company-wide design leadership role focused on driving customer acquisition, conversion, and retention through a self-serve, product-led approach.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning design work for funnel optimization, new user experience (NUX), and personalization for guided flows
- Leveraging AI to create personalized customer experiences
- Designing growth systems, experiments, and new product features by translating quantitative and qualitative insights into testable ideas
- Championing designs that deliver seamless, easy, and delightful experiences for SMB users
- Facilitating workshops to develop winning ideas
- Distilling complex information into simple and beautiful user experiences from brainstorming through high-fidelity delivery
- Building strong relationships with interdisciplinary teams to conceptualize, build, and ship user-friendly, business-driven products
- Participating in UX research independently and with researchers, applying insights to designs and advocating for users
- Being a strong voice in sharing ideas, managing stakeholder feedback, challenging assumptions, and bringing best practices to the team
Checkr expects in-office work 3+ days per week from hub locations (Denver, San Francisco, Nashville, or Santiago). REQUIREMENTS:
- 7+ years of professional design experience, including 4+ years on Growth teams or in ecommerce and merchandising where your work drove gains in conversion, basket price, and product adoption
- Portfolio showcasing high-quality work directly impacting project success
- Excellence on onboarding and merchandising surfaces; comfort with iterative experimentation like A/B testing; ability to advocate for broader strategic approaches
- Ability to uncover insights firsthand; comfortable identifying and conducting UX research and testing independently; innately curious and problem-focused
- Excel in complexity and fast-paced environments; passionate about balancing craft, critical thinking, and business needs
- Focus on psychology and behavioral patterns; experience with behavioral science is a plus
- Ability to connect work to bigger picture; can describe high-level team goals and align projects; skilled in design explorations, research, documentation, and presentations to rally teams and communicate with leadership
- Deep understanding of design best practices and contemporary design patterns
- Nice to have: Experience with B2B companies focusing on SMBs
- A-player mindset with strong bias for action; raises the bar, moves with urgency, stays resilient through ambiguity, takes ownership
