The company is reimagining the minerals supply chain by combining deep industry expertise with advanced software, automation, and data-driven decision-making. As Staff Process Controls Engineer, you will lead the development and deployment of first-of-its-kind chemical refining processes while playing a critical role in developing software for capital project execution and automated plant optimization. You will own controls infrastructure and programming scopes from concept through design, installation, commissioning, ramp, and handover to operations. Key responsibilities include: - Developing standards for controls programming and leading equipment scopes across the full lifecycle - Managing external equipment providers, technology licensors, and engineering companies to deliver integrated mineral refining solutions - Driving cross-functional teams (lab technicians, pilot plant engineers, process engineers, project engineers) to lead technical equipment scale-up and de-risk commercialization of novel processes - Hiring, mentoring, and managing junior process engineers - Developing technoeconomic models for new project opportunities and acquisition targets - Preparing bankable engineering deliverables for project financing partners - Identifying and implementing process engineering and project management software tools - Supporting software and machine learning teams in automating capital project workflows and developing advanced plant control algorithms Required qualifications include strong engineering fundamentals, equipment engineering and design experience, and deep controls expertise. You must have minimum 5 years in Siemens PLC environments with experience in control hardware specification, cabinet design, version management, and system administration. Additional requirements include low voltage power distribution design, VFD selection and configuration, HMI programming (Ignition preferred), and electrical/instrumentation/controls installation support. Experience in industrial manufacturing, mining/mineral processing, chemical production, or EPC firms is essential, along with direct or indirect leadership of engineers and technicians and pilot plant/small capital project execution.
