Graphcore, a globally recognized leader in AI computing systems and member of the SoftBank Group, is seeking a Staff Power Electronics Engineer to design, test, and develop power delivery components across the grid-to-chip architecture. This hybrid role based in Milpitas, CA involves significant laboratory work alongside remote flexibility. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, firmware developers, and data center operations to ensure infrastructure meets customer requirements and standards for performance, reliability, and scalability. Key responsibilities include: - Contributing to design and specification of grid-to-chip power chain components and systems - Building and managing test environments for comprehensive validation of the power delivery chain - Designing test hardware including fixtures, loads, and devices to simulate various loading conditions and evaluate power chain performance across multiple test types (functional, robustness, reliability, high-power cycle, high-bandwidth, energy storage, and AI power system validation) - Designing and prototyping custom power conversion hardware and components to support Graphcore's power architecture - Supporting transition of system designs from validation into manufacturing and production - Ensuring robustness of IT power infrastructure in the presence of grid disturbances and compatibility with grid requirements - Providing guidance to power equipment manufacturers, ODMs, and engineering teams on testing and validation procedures - Resolving sophisticated power hardware and firmware issues Required qualifications include a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Electrical Engineering with demonstrated ability in power system architecture, design, and development. You should have experience testing high-voltage and high-power systems, proficiency in power hardware and firmware development and debugging, excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, and strong communication and teamwork abilities. Familiarity with AI and data center infrastructure technologies is a plus.
