Salary: USD 152,000 - 172,335 / annual
Ping Identity is seeking a Staff Platform Security Engineer to own platform security engineering for assigned products and tools. This role sits at the intersection of security and product development, requiring deep expertise in securing enterprise cloud platforms and APIs.
Key responsibilities include:
- Owning platform security engineering for assigned Ping Identity products and tools
- Developing and implementing Secure Software Development Lifecycle (SSDLC) practices across product teams
- Performing security design reviews, code reviews, vulnerability assessments, and threat modeling in an agile environment
- Executing security tasks including static code analysis, dynamic runtime fuzzing, and exploit development
- Automating SSDLC tasks to scale security practices
- Collaborating with SRE and engineering teams to secure platform infrastructure
- Supporting presales, support, and customer success teams on security-related questions
- Engaging with third-party security consultants for independent assessments, bug bounties, and penetration testing
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise platform security, API security, and web application security
- 5+ years developing commercial or open-source products (Java preferred)
- Experience securing cloud infrastructure including Kubernetes and Infrastructure as Code platforms
- Strong understanding of network protocols and architectures (TCP/IP, UDP, IPv6, IPSEC, TLS, HTTP/S)
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with attention to detail and documentation
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
