AlphaSense is seeking a Staff Platform Engineer to lead the Cloud Developer Experience (DX) team, which owns the complete software delivery lifecycle for ~400 engineers globally. The role combines operational expertise with hands-on software development, requiring leadership across timezones and collaboration with senior engineers across dozens of teams.
You will design and operate production-grade CI/CD infrastructure, contribute directly in Go and Python, and shape engineering practices for a global organization. The team is advancing toward industry-leading continuous integration and deployment, implementing progressive delivery patterns including canary deployments, automated rollbacks, trunk-based development, and GitOps workflows.
Key responsibilities include owning and evolving the CI/CD architecture and developer experience, driving improvements to pipeline reliability and speed, defining "paved paths" that enable product teams to ship safely without deep platform knowledge, and championing progressive delivery practices. You'll build observable, repeatable, self-service deployment tooling, own the Internal Developer Portal, and partner with Cloud Platform teams on infrastructure while maintaining focus on the developer-facing delivery experience.
The ideal candidate has strong platform engineering or developer experience background, proven ability to design and operate delivery systems at scale, hands-on production-quality Go experience, and deep familiarity with CI/CD platforms at both admin and architecture levels. Experience with cloud-native architectures, Kubernetes, and progressive delivery practices is essential. A passion for leveraging AI tooling to improve engineering velocity and embedding AI-assisted workflows into the software development lifecycle is valued. Nice-to-have skills include building/maintaining an Internal Developer Platform, experience in both software and platform engineering teams, and security knowledge (RBAC, OAuth).
