Salary: USD 200,000 - 225,000 / annual

You will design, layout, and test silicon photonics devices for integrated, scalable laser systems. This is a technical leadership role where you'll drive innovation in photonic component design while collaborating with cross-functional teams in photonics, packaging, systems, and software to define specifications and ensure designs meet performance targets.
Key responsibilities include designing and optimizing silicon photonic devices (couplers, muxes, rings, switches, active/passive components), laying out test structures and complex integrated systems, developing test plans with the characterization team, addressing integration challenges with packaging and systems teams, implementing rigorous simulation and modeling methodologies, contributing to novel device architectures, and publishing results at premier optics/photonics conferences.
You'll need a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Photonics, or related field plus 3+ years of industry experience. Required expertise includes silicon photonics device design/layout/testing in product environments, proficiency with Lumerical or Tidy3D, Python modeling and data analysis, experience with integrated lasers and SOAs, and strong cross-functional collaboration skills. Preferred qualifications include foundry PDK layout experience, code-based GDS creation (GDS Factory), optical/electronic test equipment expertise, and strong project execution abilities.
