True Anomaly is seeking a Staff Mission Network Engineer to design, deploy, and operate secure network infrastructure supporting classified U.S. Government space defense programs. This is a hands-on technical leadership role combining on-premise and cloud network engineering across multiple classification levels.
You will be responsible for deploying and maintaining terrestrial network infrastructure (switching, routing, cabling, boundary protection) across classified facilities nationwide. You'll implement and manage AWS GovCloud and IL-6+ classified cloud environments, including VPCs, transit gateways, security groups, and network access controls. The role requires configuring connectivity between cloud environments, USG networks, and distributed physical sites while ensuring compliance with DoD Approved Products Lists and Trade Agreements Act requirements.
Key responsibilities include implementing network security controls (boundary protection, traffic segmentation, encryption), validating DISA STIG requirements across on-premise and cloud layers, and remediating network-layer findings from vulnerability scans and security control assessments. You will deploy and operate NSA Type 1 cryptographic devices (KG-175 TACLANE, KG-142), manage keying material and controlled cryptographic items per USG regulations, and troubleshoot classified network systems.
You'll support Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities including control implementation, STIG validation, and Authority to Operate (ATO) preparation in coordination with Information System Security Engineers. Maintaining accurate network documentation (topology diagrams, as-built configurations, security artifacts) for ATO compliance is essential. You will partner closely with the Staff Security Architect – Networks, cloud engineers, ISSEs, and industrial security personnel to ensure deployments meet program security and compliance requirements.
This role requires an active Secret clearance at hire, with the ability to obtain and maintain TS/SCI. You must be comfortable working in classified facilities and equally proficient with cloud infrastructure, bringing senior-level expertise in both terrestrial and cloud network architecture, security, and operations.
