Relativity Space is building Terran R, a commercial launch vehicle designed to deliver payloads to orbit. The Stage Manufacturing team owns the build of Terran R's primary structures, focusing on turning design into manufacturing reality through advanced processes including 3D printing and assembly automation.
As Staff Manufacturing Engineer for Primary Structures, you will serve as a technical leader and individual contributor across the manufacturing organization. Your responsibilities include:
• Provide Design for Manufacturing (DFM) feedback to structures design teams during development, prototype, and flight build phases, ensuring designs are optimized for production.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design engineers, manufacturing specialists, reliability engineers, internal production teams, and external vendors to solve complex manufacturing challenges.
• Provide hands-on shop floor coverage for primary structure work center assembly operations, identifying and clearing barriers to keep production on schedule.
• Champion process improvements across multiple work centers, incorporating learnings from the first Terran R build to enhance assembly operations and scalability.
• Create and standardize work instructions, specifications, and best practices across high-fidelity manufacturing processes, establishing standards across the manufacturing team.
• Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing efficiency, quality, and cost as the vehicle and factory evolve.
