As a Staff Systems Engineer for Automations & Integrations, you will be a hands-on technical leader designing and delivering enterprise-wide automations, AI-assisted workflows, and governed data integrations across Ironclad's business technology landscape. This is an individual contributor role with broad technical scope and influence across the organization.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and build robust automations and integrations across business systems (Salesforce, NetSuite, BambooHR, identity, engineering tools) using Workato and adjacent platforms, with emphasis on reliability, observability, and reusability.
- Lead complex, cross-functional integration projects end-to-end: requirements, solution design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support for GTM, EPD, and G&A stakeholders.
- Operationalize AI-powered workflows and agents by integrating Glean and other AI tools into systems and processes in a governed manner.
- Establish and evolve standards for automation design, testing, monitoring, documentation, and security/compliance across Biz Tech and partner teams.
- Implement best-in-class error handling, alerting, runbooks, and remediation patterns to minimize business impact.
- Champion high-quality engineering practices including version control, peer reviews, CI/CD for recipes, and configuration-as-code approaches.
- Partner with stakeholders and executives to translate business problems into technical designs and roadmaps.
- Mentor other engineers and analysts through design reviews, pairing, and enablement sessions.
- Explore and introduce innovation in automation patterns, AI agentic capabilities, and integration approaches.
Required qualifications:
- 5+ years in automation, integration, or data engineering roles with track record of owning complex, business-critical systems in SaaS/B2B environments.
- Expert-level Workato experience including recipe design, API integrations, custom connectors, error handling, and operational best practices.
- Hands-on experience with Glean or similar AI knowledge platforms, including administration and integrating AI retrieval/agentic workflows.
- Deep familiarity with enterprise systems (Salesforce, NetSuite, BambooHR, Okta, engineering/ticketing systems).
- Strong architectural and automation design skills with ability to define patterns and reusable components.
- Solid ETL/ELT, data modeling, and SQL/T-SQL background plus proficiency in Python, Ruby, or similar scripting languages.
- Proven experience operationalizing automation workflows and AI models for enterprise use cases with monitoring, observability, and governance.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Comfortable leading by influence and mentoring peers without direct people management.
