Savvy is a Series B fintech company reinventing wealth management for independent financial advisors. The company operates as a registered investment advisor (RIA), providing advisors with a modern, AI-native platform, marketing support, investment management, and back-office operations. With 150 employees and 500%+ YoY growth, Savvy is hiring its first dedicated infrastructure engineer to own and scale the cloud platform.
You will own the complete AWS and EKS infrastructure footprint, including cluster architecture, networking, IAM, cost optimization, and IaC standards. You'll set the deploy contract and technical direction that 35+ engineers build within, and you'll be responsible for the operational side of Postgres, Redis, and background job processing. The role is split between platform ownership and enablement: you'll audit existing decisions, identify what won't scale, and sequence remediation while the team continues shipping. You'll also support the infrastructure needed for coding agents and LLM workloads across the engineering organization.
Key responsibilities include defining OpenTofu module structure and state management patterns, building SLOs and meaningful alerting, running stateful systems in production, shipping tooling that makes the platform easy for engineers to use correctly, and mentoring engineers who've been doing infrastructure work part-time. You'll work directly with product engineers on novel problems around agent compute, isolation, and observability rather than managing a ticket queue.
Must-haves: 3+ years of production Kubernetes ownership as the escalation point (not just deploying to someone else's cluster), experience inheriting and remediating infrastructure without stopping the business, work on small infrastructure teams (5 or fewer) with real consequences, software engineering skills (controllers, CLIs, internal services), Terraform/OpenTofu depth including module design and state management, Postgres production experience, CI/CD and observability expertise, and fluency with agentic coding tools like Claude Code.
Nice-to-haves include Rails/Sidekiq or similar stateful application experience, fintech or regulated-industry background, and experience migrating from managed PaaS to self-managed infrastructure.
